Astrology~part 4

Astrology: part 4
I know it has been a bit of time since the last writing, but not much I can do about it. This old witch is becoming weary in mortal ways of things and it is becoming difficult to do many things.

I left off describing the aspects and natures of the stars within Aries, the generally accepted house of the western zodiac. I realize I had said that this writing would go into more depth within Aries, but I am going to delay that for the moment, due to aforesaid natures. For now, I will fill in the list of the major star aspects for the balance of the western houses so that they are all in one place of reference.

Of the stars in Taurus:
the stars along the line (ecliptical) have a temperature like that of Venus and in part like that of Saturn. The stars of the Pleiades are like those of the Moon and Jupiter. In the head, the Hyades that is bright and reddish (sometimes called the Torch) is like that of Mars, and the others like that of Saturn and in moderation like that of Mercury. The stars in the tips of the horns are like Mars.

In Gemini:
the feet carry the same qualities as Mercury with a touch of Venus. The bright stars in the thighs are like Saturn. Of the two in the heads, the one called Apollo is like Mercury and the one called the star of Hercules is like Mars.

In Cancer:
the two eyes have the effects of Mercury with a touch of Mars. In the claws they are like Saturn and Mercury. The cloud like cluster in the breast (the Manger) are the same as Mars and the Moon and the ones called Asses are the same as Mars and the Sun.

In Leo:
the two in the head are simular to Saturn and in lesser part like Mars. the three in the throat are as Saturn with a touch of Mercury. Regulus, (the heart), the same as Saturn and Venus. the thighs are as Venus, and to a lesser degree, Mercury.

In Virgo:
those in the head and the one upon the tip of the southern wing have the effects of Mercury, and a little bit of Mars. the other brighter stars of the wing and those on the girdles are of Mercury and in part, Venus. Vindemiator, (the bright star in the northern wing), is like Saturn and Mercury. Spica, is like Venus and in part like Mars. The stars in the tips of the feet and the train are like Mercury and in lessor degree, Mars.

In Scorpio:
in the claws, and at their extremities have the influence as Jupiter and Mercury. the ones in the middle are as Saturn, and in small part like Mars. In the body, the brighter stars of the forehead act as Mars and in part like Saturn. the three in the body are like Mars and to lessor degree Jupiter. those in the joints are mostly of Saturn and partly of Venus. In the stinger, are like Mercury and Mars. the so-called cloudlike cluster is like Mars and the Moon.

In Sagittarius:
in the point of his arrow the stars have the effect of Mars and the Moon. the ones in the bow and the grip of his hand are like Jupiter and Mars. the cluster in his forehead are of the Sun and Mars. in his cloak and back, like that of Jupiter and to lessor degree, Mercury. Of his feet are the aspects of Jupiter and Saturn. the quadrangle upon the tail is like that ov Venus and in part like Saturn.

In Capricorn:
those of the horns are like Venus and in part like Mars. in the mouth, mostly like Saturn with a touch of Venus. in the feet and belly are the aspects of Mars and Mercury. and in the tail we have Saturn and Jupiter.

In Aquarius:
stars in the shoulders exert influences of Saturn and Mercury, along with those in the left arm and the cloak. in the thighs we have aspects of Mercury and a touch of Saturn. in the stream of water, mostly like Saturn and a little bit of Jupiter.

In Pisces:
in the head of the southern fish they have the ways of Mercury with a touch of Saturn. those in the body like Jupiter and Mercury. those in the tail and the southern cord are mostly like Saturn with a hint of Mercury. in the body and backbone of the northern fish, mostly like Jupiter and in part like Venus. those in the northern part of the cord are like Saturn and Jupiter. the bright star on the bond is like Mars, and to lessor degree, Mercury.

Now I am sure that at this point anyone reading will wonder what happened to Libra. Pretty good question. Not even Ptolemy discusses the aspects or natures of the stars in Libra, and much of his works in this area he drew upon the knowledge of his predecessorsalong with his own studies. That pretty much takes us back into BCE time mode where many writings which happen to exist still contain the difficulties of translations. Anyway, the aspects and natures (influences) of the particular stars within a house are of particular interest within any serious magykal workings, rituals, rites and castings of all sorts ( let alone the divinatory powers ). So the general measure of practice here would be to take all things into consideration and knowledge of the particular stars along with the planets and positions is of equal importance.
