Allow me to say from the start: I do not consider myself an expert or specialist in either field of astrology or astromony. I make no claims other than being a life-long "student" of such things as they relate to my beliefs and practices as a witch of old. Those of being "serious, lifetime practioners" in their ~path~ would easily understand the scope of this statement.
For thousands upon thousands of years many have gazed upon the stars seeking both knowledge, wisdom and powers thereof. Over that time there are perhaps thousands of writings and books of all nature professing their accuracy and insight. (mostly of the authors' own opinion of self and backed by upteen degrees from as many institutions of higher learning) There are by comparision, a handful of notable publications by "professionals" within these fields. ( these will be discussed in future writings)
There is within both fields (astrology and astromony) areas of great debate amidst their own memberships. The usual sort of thing, one seems to have more knowledge than the other and who is the more knowledgeable is often debateable in itself. Most cannot even agree upon what is a star or what constitutes a planet. (my sympathy to Pluto) There is even great division between the two factions over the obvious simplicity of the zodiac. (**please recall at this point that I am a "witch of old") Even the worlds' most asteemed astromoners keep drawing and re-drawing the various constellation boundries! And as for the publicly taunted professional astrologists making the big bucks with their websites and books, well, let's hope their computer softwares don't aquire too many viral breakdowns. ( "can't see the forest for the trees"?!?) I, in no way mean any disrespect for any of these "professionals", but I do suggest that in your own beliefs and practices that you take what is before you and continue to seek your own knowledge in this and in all things. EVEN with anything this old witch may write!
These above mentioned points of interest are but a small reason why this old witch is following something within inner spirit and thereby prompting the actions of going to his virtual typewriter. Perhaps some of what is to come will add to the on-going debates in both aforesaid fields. Perhaps there will be many who will disagree with this and that. Perhaps there will be many who will be opinionated this way or that. All, is for the good. Because if any of these writings cause you to stop, think, and seek knowledge in whatever way, then you will benefit greatly in mind, spirit and body. And that my friends and possiblely readers, I will call "good".
Since I've seem to have taken a bit of time with some form of introduction here, our first bit of "knowledge" within these writings will be brief. Feel free to make a collection along the way if you so wish. For as we go, the various connections and relationships will show theirselves.
And as always, "Blessed be thy Steps"
